Job Summary
Technical Sales Manager to join Forge Biologics’ Technical Sales team. Remote-eligible role serving as the technical authority for AAV-based therapeutic development and manufacturing, engaging with client scientific and executive leadership. Lead pre-sales, scope programs, develop proposals and technical sales materials, and represent Forge as a subject-matter expert in client engagements. Collaborate with delivery teams, manage high-level client relationships, and participate in industry conferences. The ideal candidate is a PhD-level scientist with deep AAV development and GMP manufacturing expertise; Bachelor’s degree required with advanced degree preferred. Role involves travel to Forge Biologics’ Columbus HQ and to client meetings/domestic and international conferences (approximately 30% travel).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, or a related field required; advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) highly preferred.
- Significant hands-on experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry, with a strong preference for experience in MS&T, GMP manufacturing, Process Engineering, Process Development, or related disciplines.
- Deep technical expertise in gene therapy development and manufacturing, with the ability to translate complex scientific concepts for diverse audiences.
- Strong understanding of drug development, regulatory expectations, and market dynamics within the gene therapy field.
- Exceptional relationship-building, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
- Willingness to travel up to 30%.
