Job Summary
Technical Sales Engineer - Thermal role focused on driving sales of thermal management equipment by applying technical expertise to review RFPs/specifications, analyze drawings, and coordinate with Account Managers. Responsibilities include reviewing specifications and drawings, performing basic calculations (capacity, flow, approach temperature, pump head), preparing technical documentation and bid forms, responding to RFIs, participating in design reviews, maintaining solution templates, coordinating with sourcing/manufacturing for lead times, supporting factory witness test preparation, serving as SME during customer visits and events, staying updated on industry trends, providing product feedback for enhancements, and mentoring less experienced team members. Key skills include interpreting mechanical drawings and P&IDs, HVAC/thermal concepts, Excel, CRM/CPQ usage, and effective communication with customers and cross-functional teams. This role requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 2–4 years of related experience, with standard office duties and travel expectations reflected by typical technical sales engineering positions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
- 2–4 years of technical sales engineering or application engineering experience
- Strong ability to interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and specifications
- Working knowledge of HVAC/thermal concepts
- Proficiency in Excel; experience with CRM/CPQ systems and submittal creation
