Job Summary
Lead ERM's Safety & Risk team in the Asia Pacific region, specifically Japan, by building and mentoring a technically strong team while driving staff development and fostering an incident-free Health & Safety culture. Execute a business strategy to grow Safety & Risk services in Japan, lead business development efforts with new and existing clients, and prepare technical proposals to secure repeat business. Manage complex, interdisciplinary projects to international standards, overseeing scope, budget, and schedule while ensuring commitments to both clients and ERM are met. Act as a Technical Reviewer for deliverables, validating alignment with industry best practices, Japanese regulations, and international standards for hazard and risk assessments across oil & gas, chemical, and high-tech sectors.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Process Engineering
- 9–13 years in Safety & Risk Engineering
- Expertise in PHA
- Expertise in HAZID
- Expertise in HAZOP
- Expertise in QRA
- Expertise in Bow-Tie Analysis
- Expertise in SIL studies
- Expertise in consequence modelling
- Proven ability to lead teams
- Proven ability to mentor staff
- Proven ability to manage complex projects
- Experience in business development
- Experience in client engagement
- Experience in delivering strategic growth
- Excellent written and verbal skills in English
- Ability to present technical concepts clearly
- Strong commitment to Health & Safety
- Flexibility to travel
- Ability to work independently
- Fluent Japanese (JLPT N1 or equivalent)
- Business-level English proficiency
