Job Summary
Lead ERM's Safety & Risk team in the Asia Pacific region, specifically Japan, by building a technically strong unit through mentoring and knowledge sharing. Drive business growth in the Japanese market by developing strategies, preparing proposals, and leading client engagement to secure repeat business. Manage complex, interdisciplinary projects ensuring strict adherence to international standards, budgets, and schedules while delegating tasks to junior staff. Act as a Technical Reviewer to validate deliverables against industry best practices and Japanese regulations, providing expertise in hazard and risk assessments for oil, gas, chemical, and high-tech sectors.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Process Engineering
- 9–13 years in Safety & Risk Engineering
- Expertise in PHA
- Expertise in HAZID
- Expertise in HAZOP
- Expertise in QRA
- Expertise in Bow-Tie Analysis
- Expertise in SIL studies
- Expertise in consequence modelling
- Proven ability to lead teams
- Proven ability to mentor staff
- Proven ability to manage complex projects
- Experience in business development
- Experience in client engagement
- Experience in delivering strategic growth
- Excellent written and verbal skills in English
- Ability to present technical concepts clearly
- Strong commitment to Health & Safety
- Flexibility to travel
- Ability to work independently
- Fluent Japanese (JLPT N1 or equivalent)
- Business-level English proficiency
