Job Summary
Author ASC 606 position papers and policy frameworks for new product launches, partnering with Product, Sales, and Legal to assess revenue recognition and performance obligations. Evaluate emerging commercial structures, consumption-based billing, and multi-element packaging to determine compliant accounting treatment. Serve as primary contact for external auditors, preparing defensible support packages and maintaining SOX control documentation. Lead cross-functional initiatives to automate revenue processes and support month-end close execution and reporting. Conduct ad hoc technical accounting analysis for mergers and acquisitions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Active CPA license
- 5+ years of relevant accounting experience with at least 2+ years of Technical Revenue experience
- Deep, practical ASC 606 expertise applied to multi-element, consumption-based, and hybrid arrangements
- Direct experience with standalone selling price, performance obligation identification, variable consideration, material rights, contract modifications, and principal versus agent analysis
- Demonstrated technical accounting research and writing skills
- Judgment about scope
- Proven ability to influence without direct authority and to explain technical accounting concepts to people who do not have an accounting background
- Experience with revenue controls and supporting external audits in a SOX environment
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with NetSuite and Salesforce
- Genuine interest in applying AI and automation to finance operations, with some practical experience doing so
- Prior Public Accounting experience with regards to Revenue (ASC 606)
- Exposure to merger and acquisition diligence or post-close revenue integration
- Proficiency with generative AI tools to enhance daily productivity and workflow efficiency
- We're remote-first and work happens across many time-zones – you may be required to occasionally perform duties outside your standard working hours
