Job Summary

Conduct expert-level visual, dimensional, and electrical inspections of manufacturing goods during and at the completion of the manufacturing process. Interpret complex prints, manufacturing drawings, and wire cards to approve or reject in-process and final assemblies while ensuring compliance with NASA, IPC, and AS9100 standards. Document inspection results, maintain accurate records, and communicate findings to stakeholders and management. Lead or collaborate on root cause analysis for non-conformances, assist in drafting work instructions and SOPs, and provide mentorship to Level I-III inspectors. Support continuous improvement initiatives and internal/external audits.

Required Qualifications

  • Typically 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Completed NASA and IPC industry standard certifications
  • Completion of advanced GD&T training
  • Advanced understanding of technical schematics and documents
  • Advanced understanding of electrical wiring standards and specifications
  • Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite tools, particularly PowerPoint and Excel
  • Ability to understand and interpret geometric dimensioning and tolerance
  • Experience drafting work instructions and SOPs
  • Ability to be a U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State or U.S. Department of Commerce

Desired Qualifications

  • Current, verifiable NAS410 Level I or II certification in Eddy Current Testing (ET)
  • Proof of documented on-the-job training (OJT) and formal classroom hours matching NAS410 requirements
  • Prior experience in Ultrasonic Thickness (UT) testing
  • Advanced certifications in weld inspection or other NDT methodologies (e.g., AWS Certified Welding Inspector)
  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical field
  • Advanced certifications in quality assurance or inspection (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Quality Auditor, or Certified Quality Inspector)
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Lean Six Sigma Certification
  • Experience with using advanced inspection tools and equipment, such as Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), laser scanners, and optical comparators
  • Proficiency with advanced statistical process control (SPC) techniques and quality data analysis
  • Experience with quality management software and databases, such as SAP QM or similar
  • Quality inspection experience in a regulated industry, such as aerospace or defense, with a thorough understanding of industry-specific standards and regulations including AS9100
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor Level I-III inspectors and provide technical guidance
  • Experience leading quality assurance projects and initiatives
