Job Summary
Lead end-to-end delivery of Java-based insurance products by designing, developing, and reviewing production-grade Spring Boot and microservices applications. Conduct code reviews, drive architecture decisions for modernization initiatives, and mentor development teams while translating domain requirements into technical solutions. Manage the full project lifecycle from planning to support, leading cross-functional teams through Agile/Scrum practices and tracking metrics like velocity and risks. Act as the primary client interface to manage stakeholder expectations, collaborate with business analysts on UAT, and implement mitigation strategies for identified risks. Requires 10+ years of IT experience with mandatory vendor/IT services background and hands-on coding expertise in Java, REST APIs, and Oracle databases. Immediate joiners preferred.
Required Qualifications

- Strong expertise in Java/J2EE, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and Microservices
- Hands-on coding experience (mandatory)
- Experience with REST API design and development
- Strong understanding of system design, architecture, and modernization
- Proficiency in Oracle or similar databases
- Experience with Git and JIRA
- Strong debugging, performance tuning, and problem-solving skills
- 6–7+ years of experience in the Insurance domain (P&C, Life, or Health)
- Understanding of policy lifecycle, underwriting, claims, or related processes
- Vendor/IT services background is mandatory
- Strong communication and client-facing skills
- Proven experience in monolith to microservices migration
- Basic familiarity with AI productivity tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT)
- 10+ years of IT experience with strong technical foundation
- Prior hands-on development experience before moving into project management
- Stable career history with consistent tenures
- Ability to contribute technically while managing teams and stakeholders
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with insurance platforms like Guidewire, Duck Creek, or Majesco (preferred)
- Familiarity with insurance regulatory and compliance frameworks
- PMP / CSM certification is a plus
