Job Summary
Lead software and pipeline tool development efforts from concept to delivery, ensuring meaningful improvements for artist and production workflows. Develop detailed project plans that break down complex problem spaces into concrete milestones while proactively resolving risks and dependencies. Partner closely with engineering, technical directors, and creative stakeholders to align project plans with the broader technology roadmap and studio strategy. Apply Agile practices to drive cross-functional initiatives from pre-production through release, facilitating alignment across distributed teams and time zones. Communicate project status and risks with candor, tailoring detail for diverse audiences while building trust-based relationships with production leaders.
Required Qualifications
- Proven project or program management experience in technology‐driven environments, with significant time spent on software, pipeline, or tool development
- Familiarity with animation pipelines, or direct experience partnering with production teams in animation, VFX, games, or media technology
- Strong sense of ownership and follow through
- Demonstrated success working with distributed teams across multiple locations and time zones, building strong partnerships without relying on co‐location
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to be direct, concise, and transparent about tradeoffs, risks, and decisions
- Attention to Detail
- Comfortable working with minimal direction in ambiguous environments
- Evident curiosity and eagerness to learn—about new tools, workflows, crafts, and points of view
Desired Qualifications
- Experience as part of a high‐performing team of project managers, openly sharing context, feedback, and best practices to help each other excel
- Hands‐on application of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Lean, etc.) in a way that empowers teams and owners rather than enforcing bureaucracy
- Use of metrics, analytics, and thoughtful post‐mortems to learn from bets—whether they succeed or fail—and to inform the next iteration
