Job Summary
Technical Project Manager III seeks to plan and manage delivery of insurance/financial services platform solutions across matrixed teams and external clients. Responsibilities include managing changes to project scope, schedule, and costs; aligning stakeholders to the project plan; measuring performance to identify variances; executing tasks; defining project organization and roles; identifying and mitigating risks; recording customer requirements and assumptions; improving team performance through mentoring and leadership; maintaining strong stakeholder rapport; and demonstrating core values. The role requires extensive project-management experience, familiarity with Waterfall/Agile methodologies, knowledge of the software development lifecycle, and experience with tools like Jira, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, and SharePoint. Travel up to 10% and expertise in annuities and life products are noted; PMI credentials and Agile experience are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Five plus years of Project Management Experience
- Ten to fifteen years’ total technology experience
- Demonstrated ability to manage a project using a variety of methodologies (Waterfall, Scrum, Kanban)
- Participation in the full software development life cycle
- Experience with third-party system support with preference given to insurance / financial services platforms
- Knowledge of IT systems, governance and compliance
- Proven problem solving, decision making, analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to tailor communications and influence critical decisions with a variety of stakeholders
- Ability to work within broadly defined parameters
- Strong results orientation, organization and management skills
- Ability to lead and focus the efforts of others to established goal
- Ability to effectively drive results with cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization
- Experience with conversions and implementations
- Ability to mentor junior Technical Project Managers as required
- Knowledge of annuities and life products
- 2-4 years in an Agile environment preferred
- PMI- ACP, CSM or equivalent preferred
- Ability to travel a minimum of 10% of the time
Desired Qualifications
- CAPM or PMP or similar designation preferred
