Job Summary
Oversee and manage all aspects of project execution for advanced communications and networking technologies, serving as the primary interface between customers, internal engineering teams, and leadership. Ensure customer satisfaction through clear communication, proactive problem-solving, and by getting in front of real-world operators to understand end-user needs. Lead risk management, resource planning, and performance tracking while managing budget, schedule, and scope dynamically. Establish and refine project management processes suitable for a high-growth, agile startup environment. Support proposal development, planning, and strategic growth initiatives, ensuring system development environments align with DoD security requirements.
Required Qualifications
- 7 – 10 years of experience in technical or engineering environments, including 2–5 years of direct project management responsibility
- Strong leadership presence and proven ability to take charge, motivate teams, and deliver results
- Technical foundation — degree in engineering, systems management, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience
- Excellent organizational, communication, presenting, and decision-making skills
- Adaptable to startup environments, comfortable building structure where needed
- U.S. citizenship
- Current US SECRET Clearance, or ability to get clearance
- Must be a nimble self-starter who is excited about technology and has the ability to think out of the box and suggest powerful new ideas
Desired Qualifications
- Ideal candidates will have experience in technical leadership, project budget and schedule management, and familiarity with military aircraft and communication systems
- Former military officer or similar experience with operational or acquisition programs
- Familiarity with tactical data links (TDL), secure communications, and/or BLOS systems
- Experience with DoD R&D process and life cycle management
- Familiarity with applying Agile or hybrid project management methods in hardware/software development
- Proficiency with MS Project, Jira, or similar PM tools, and exposure to Earned Value Management (EVM)
