Technical Project Manager (Australia)

Job Summary

Lead end-to-end project ownership for fleet electrification, guiding customers from early planning and concept development through infrastructure implementation and operational handover. Provide subject matter expertise on charging infrastructure, advising on electrical distribution, site design, and grid upgrades while evaluating tenders and reviewing contractor submissions. Manage project delivery, including budgeting, milestone tracking, and invoicing, while troubleshooting complex technical issues across electrical, communications, and control systems. Own the transition of commissioned equipment into the Charge Management System, coordinating testing, validation, and customer training. Ensure compliance with safety standards and drive continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and supporting bid efforts.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in Engineering, Procurement and Construction projects in the electric vehicle charging or energy sector, including design development, tender evaluation, contractor design review, technical documentation and commissioning
  • University degree in engineering, such as electrical, electronic, control systems, telecommunications or a similar discipline
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting across electrical, communications and networking, software and control-system disciplines
  • Experience using control systems or energy management systems for monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Experience building client rapport, acting as a trusted source of solutions and providing strong customer service
  • Experience managing project delivery, including milestones, budgets, contract scope, resources, risks, reporting and operational handover

  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot across electrical, communications and networking, software and control-system disciplines
  • Experience in EPC electric vehicle charging infrastructure or energy projects, specifically including design and commissioning
  • University degree in electrical, electronic, control systems, telecommunications or a similar engineering discipline
  • Ability to build rapport with clients, act as a trusted source of solutions and provide excellent customer service
  • Experience using charge management, industrial control systems and/or energy management systems or similar software for monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing project scope, customer requirements and emerging technology, including occasional urgent after-hours support

Desired Qualifications

  • Nice to Haves: Experience in the electric vehicle charging industry
  • Ability to coordinate customers, charger and vehicle OEMs, electrical infrastructure providers, installation teams and internal departments
  • Demonstrated experience in commercial and contract management
  • Knowledge of local and regional regulations relating to work on electrical systems
