Job Summary
Own the system architecture and drive design decisions by translating customer requirements into scalable, cost-effective solutions. Lead technical analysis, design reviews, and corrective actions based on validation results while providing direction throughout the product development lifecycle. Manage departmental plans, resources, and budgets to ensure projects meet time, scope, and cost targets. Coach a multidisciplinary engineering team, fostering accountability and continuous improvement while collaborating with Product, Program, Manufacturing, Quality, and supplier teams. Monitor industry trends and engineering best practices to drive improvements in products and development methodologies. Full-time employment of 40 hours per week with an 8% holiday allowance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
- Strong knowledge of systems engineering and product development
- Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and delivering complex products throughout the full development lifecycle
- Experience in automotive development environments
- Familiarity with ASPICE
- Familiarity with Functional Safety (ISO 26262)
- Familiarity with SOTIF (ISO 21448)
- Familiarity with Automotive Core Tools (IATF 16949, APQP, DFMEA)
- Strong problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset
- Experience with structured methodologies such as 8D
- Knowledge of embedded systems
- Knowledge of real-time operating systems
- Knowledge of Linux environments
- Knowledge of Windows environments
- Ability to guide technical teams in system-level development
