Technical Program Manager - Release Management

Job Summary
Manage end-to-end release cadences for DataHub Core open-source and Managed Cloud, coordinating cross-functional teams including engineering, product, QA, and DevOps. Define Quality Gates to establish Go/No-Go criteria and build automation dashboards and runbooks to streamline manual release processes. Identify breaking changes and dependency conflicts before they reach production while serving as the central point of contact for all release-related updates. Facilitate release retrospectives to drive continuous improvement initiatives. This role supports the enterprise SaaS offering that delivers AI-powered discovery, observability, and governance for over 3,000 enterprises including Apple and Netflix.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in technical program management or release management roles
- Proven track record of managing complex software releases in fast-paced startup environments
- Deep understanding of software development lifecycles, CI/CD practices, and DevOps principles
- Strong technical background with ability to understand architecture, dependencies, and technical trade-offs
- Excellent project management skills with proficiency in tools like Jira, Linear, or similar
- Outstanding communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences
- Experience working with cross timezone & cross-functional teams
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with both open-source and enterprise software release models is a strong plus
- Experience with data platforms, metadata management, or data catalog platforms is a strong plus
- Background in managing releases for platforms with complex architectures
- Experience with GitHub workflows, release automation, and version management
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native deployment models
- Previous involvement in open-source communities and understanding of OSS governance
- Knowledge of SaaS operations, single tenant & multi-tenant architectures, and staged rollout strategies
- Familiarity with observability tools, incident management, and on-call processes
- Background in Agile/Scrum methodologies and sprint planning
