Job Summary
Technical Product Owner to join Thermo Fisher Scientific in Finland (Vantaa). Own and prioritize the development backlog for microbiology software products, turning business and customer needs into actionable software requirements. Facilitate agile delivery through sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, retrospectives, and release planning. Serve as the link between stakeholders and the development team, ensuring clear communication, alignment, and expectation management. Support technical and quality decisions, drive backlog quality and delivery practices, and foster continuous improvement. Requires several years of product ownership experience with backlog management and agile delivery; strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills; proficiency with Jira/GitHub; experience with Java or C#/.NET and SQL; domain knowledge in clinical microbiology or healthcare software; understanding of regulated environments; English proficiency (Finnish advantageous). Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s in CS/Software Engineering or related field. Bonus for interest in applying AI tools to software development and for Windows development experience. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s, Master’s or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Experience in Product Ownership: Several years of experience in a similar role with a consistent record in backlog management, requirement definition, and agile delivery
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and leading agile ceremonies
- Proficiency with Jira, GitHub or similar tooling
- Proficient communication in English; Finnish advantageous
- Domain knowledge in clinical microbiology, diagnostics, or healthcare software
- Knowledge of developing software in regulated environments and understanding compliance frameworks
- Relevant certifications or advanced training
