Technical Product Manager - AI

Job Summary

Define and own the AI product roadmap spanning customer-facing features like search, personalization, and agentic self-service, alongside internal tools including RAG-based co-pilots and workflow automation. Partner with developers to scope, architect, and deliver AI solutions from proof of concept through production deployment. Lead discovery by engaging with customers and business teams to identify high-value opportunities, translating findings into testable hypotheses and detailed requirements in JIRA. Design and manage experiments to evaluate AI feature performance, while acting as a translator between stakeholders and technical teams to articulate capabilities and frame business goals. Monitor post-launch metrics such as accuracy and engagement, champion responsible AI practices regarding privacy and security, and enable internal adoption through documentation and training.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 5–8 years of product management experience
  • at least 2 years leading AI/ML or data-driven product initiatives
  • Product Management experience specifically within an ecommerce setting
  • Strong working knowledge of modern AI/ML approaches: large language models and prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agentic workflows, recommendation systems, search/ranking, and personalization
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with data science and ML engineering teams to ship production-ready AI features
  • Technical fluency sufficient to read API documentation, understand data schemas and model architecture tradeoffs, and engage meaningfully in system design discussions
  • Proficiency with JIRA, Confluence, and agile/scrum methodologies
  • Strong analytical skills; comfortable defining success metrics, designing experiments, and interpreting quantitative results
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, able to align executives, engineers, and business partners around a shared vision
  • This remote position is open to individuals who live in, or are open to relocating to, the following states: Arizona, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Washington
  • This position requires travel to our headquarters in Melville, NY 6 times per year for internal meetings and team building activities
  • Remote employees are expected to work in a distraction-free environment. Personal devices, background noise, and other distractions should be kept to a minimum to avoid disrupting virtual meetings or business operations

Desired Qualifications

  • Product Management experience specifically within an ecommerce setting strongly preferred
  • Experience with LLM evaluation, prompt design, and AI quality assessment is a plus
  • CSPO, SAFe POPM, or relevant AI/ML certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Machine Learning, Google Professional ML Engineer, or similar)
