Job Summary
Hybrid Technical Operations Specialist role in Vancouver, BC (4 days in office / 1 day remote) for TOPS team. Responsibilities include monitoring the health of applications, networks, and systems; analyzing, troubleshooting, escalating and resolving brokerage system operational issues; participating in Post-Incident reviews; providing internal 2nd-level technical support; monitoring batch scheduled jobs and troubleshooting delays/failures; developing and using monitoring tools; acting as the primary escalation point for brokerage system issues; investigating and triaging real-time trade issues with internal/external parties. Requires a Bachelor's in a financial or technical discipline, proficiency with Linux, general computing and networking concepts, strong English communication, and the ability to work weekends. Preferred: knowledge of securities/commodities markets, prior experience in retail or institutional trade support, and scripting experience (Shell, Python). The anticipated base salary range is 65,000 CAD to 75,000 CAD annually, plus bonus and stock awards.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor's in a financial or a technical discipline.
- A working knowledge of general computing and networking concepts.
- Experience working with Linux operating systems.
- The ability to analyze and solve problems promptly and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work weekends.
- Strong communication skills, and must be fluent in English.
