Job Summary

Design comprehensive training frameworks and curricula spanning onboarding through advanced proficiency for Technical Operations engineers. Translate complex systems into scalable learning artifacts including runbooks, SOPs, work instructions, and troubleshooting guides. Conduct hands-on technical training across diverse products, adapting instructional methods to learner needs while setting proficiency thresholds and certification standards. Demonstrate rapid system acquisition to quickly learn new products, maintaining deep expertise across hardware, software, networking, and operational procedures. Produce and maintain technical documentation, design knowledge management systems, and establish documentation standards adopted across teams. Incorporate real-time field insights and After Action Reviews into training updates to ensure content reflects operational realities. Identify systemic capability gaps, conduct data-driven gap analyses, and track workforce readiness metrics to develop targeted training plans. Collaborate with subject matter experts, engineering teams, and sustainment engineers to develop effective training content, mentor engineers on technical concepts, and provide onsite support during deployments.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in technical field operations, deployed software engineering, or technical hands-on operational roles
  • Proven track record of becoming a Subject Matter Expert on a system and sharing that knowledge with others
  • Comfortable delivering training to groups and individuals at varying skill levels
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to rapidly learn complex technical systems
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% domestically and internationally for training delivery and field support
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret or Top Secret security clearance and support operations involving sensitive materials
  • Ability to support the handling and working with munitions
  • Ability to meet health and medical requirements in advance of deployments in accordance with DFARS252.225-7040, DoDI 3020.41, and/or any additional requirements outlined by region or supporting force, as applicable

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Software, Technology or related technical field; advanced degree preferred
  • Experience with defense systems, autonomous platforms, or complex hardware/software integration
  • Experience establishing training standards, certification programs, or competency frameworks
  • Prior military instructor experience or equivalent technical training roles
  • Strong instructional design skills with ability to create engaging, effective learning experiences for diverse audiences
  • Experience as a Forward Deployed Software Engineer
