Job Summary
Diagnose incidents by pulling data from GPS, radio, and operational systems, then synthesize findings into clear reports for diverse stakeholders. Triage issues reported by tram drivers, depot staff, and network controllers, maintaining documentation of system anomalies and resolutions. Utilize command-line tools to dig into logs, isolate signals, and collaborate with developers to improve tooling and reporting cadences. Translate complex technical situations into actionable language to support informed decision-making while attending daily stand-ups to align on priorities. Work at least three days per week from the inner north Melbourne office, with a salary range of $110,000–$135,000 plus superannuation.
Required Qualifications
- Strong analytical thinking
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills
- The ability to context-switch and manage multiple threads of investigation simultaneously
- Genuine curiosity and passion for operational systems
- Willingness to work from the office at least 3 days per week
- Comfortable working in Linux environments
- Willingness to find your way around a command line and can grep, pipe, and navigate with little need to look up
Desired Qualifications
- A background that spans more than one of: software development, business analysis, data analysis, quality assurance
- Experience working with real-time operational or transport data
- Prior experience in a managed services or support environment
