Technical Material Expeditor

Job Summary

Generate and update a Work Period-focused materials availability schedule for each Service Lead, creating material demands and tracking reservations to support work items. Review Bills-of-Materials for Preventative Maintenance, set material priorities, and escalate issues to Service Delivery Management when necessary. Resolve unavailable material requirements by coordinating with Supply Support Specialists and the Material Demand Planner, while investigating alternative acquisition methods and initiating obsolescence processes. Raise requisitions for maintenance equipment, track delivery dates, and communicate impacts to the service team. Participate in root-cause investigations and regular team meetings to advise on material status and recommend remedial actions.

Required Qualifications

  • Direct or indirect access to hardware, software, technology or technical data controlled under the Canadian Export Control List, the ITAR or the EAR
  • A positive Controlled Goods assessment
  • A Security Clearance at the NATO Secret Level
  • At least 3 years' experience working with the Military, and/or on a Defence contract or project
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, specifically Excel
  • Previous experience working with SAP, MAXIMO or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
  • Experience with the Defence Resource Management Information System (DRMIS)
  • Strong clerical skills, with high attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and work autonomously
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to balance multiple priorities
  • Experience working within procurement, finance, project management or Supply Chain & Warehousing environments
  • Open minded and able to listen; share ideas while bringing added value / capturing innovation
  • Must meet all federal government requirements to access Canadian government facilities, including naval dockyards
  • Eligibility to the Canadian Controlled Goods Program
  • Ability to obtain a Canadian NATO Secret clearance
