Technical Market Development Manager - Automotive Steel - [Amsterdam]

Job Summary
Provide technical assistance to customers during the steelmaking process of automotive steels (HSS, AHSS, UHSS, PHS), addressing issues and offering solutions to improve efficiency and product quality using Niobium (Nb) technology. Lead, manage, and participate in research and development projects with customers to create new steel grades and solutions, while managing the associated project budget. Conduct training sessions and workshops for customers, partners, and internal teams to educate them on Nb bearing steels and disseminate industry findings. Travel globally to customer sites in China, India, Japan, Korea, the US, Mexico, Turkey, and Europe to provide on-site support and foster relationships. Represent the company at international conferences and publish technical articles to promote Nb bearing steels. Work closely with the Commercial Team to accelerate the implementation of technical concepts and increase value added to the sales process.
Required Qualifications
- Metallurgical Engineering (PhD) (Complete)
- Metallurgical Engineering (Master's) (Complete)
- English (Fluent)
- 10 years of experience in the steelmaking industry
- background as dedicated and technically proficient Metallurgical Engineers
- Precipitation of Microalloy Elements in Automotive Steels
- Global Steel Industry Landscape - Automotive Industry Dynamics
- Annealing Operations for Automotive steels (HDG, CAL)
- Phase Transformation in Steels - Physical Metallurgy - Automotive Steels Metallurgy
- Project Management - MS Office (Word, Excel E Outlook)
- Steelmaking Routes Technologies (EAF and BOF) and its impacts in Auto Steel Production
- Technical Background in metallurgy, materials or correlated areas
- PhD or equivalent practical accumulated knowledge in topics related to technical area
- CRM - Sales Force or other tool experience
- Intermediate Finance Knowledge in Project Management
- Metallurgical Knowledge on Stamping Operations
- Metallurgical Knowledge on Welding Operations
- Good knowledge on steel characterization: Metallography and microstructure analysis via optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy
- good interpretation of steel mechanical tests results
- minimum of 50% travel time
- Travel to customer sites in places like China, India, Japan, Korea, the US, Mexico, Turkey, and various European countries
Desired Qualifications
- German (Intermediate) will be a plus
- French (Intermediate) will be a plus
- Mandarin will be a plus
