Job Summary
Technical Manager in our Dams Group responsible for leading structural design efforts for dams, waterfront, and heavy civil projects. Oversees evaluation, analysis, and design of concrete, steel, and wood structures; prepares detailed design calculations, construction plans, and QA/QC reviews; conducts field inspections, develops design concepts, and mentors staff. Requires BS in Civil/Structural Engineering, Registered Professional Engineer, and 15+ years in structural design with dam/waterfront experience; proficient with STAAD PRO, GT STRUDL, MathCAD, Enercalc; strong communication and leadership skills; U.S.-based remote role.

- Experience with design of dams, waterfront structures, or heavy civil projects
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams
- Experience delivering designs on-time and on-budget
Desired Qualifications
- BS in Civil/Structural Engineering
- Registered Professional Engineer
- 15+ years of experience with focus and technical knowledge in structural design
- Experience in reinforced concrete structures, steel frame structures, bulkheads, piers, cofferdams, and shoring systems
- Familiarity with major national and industrial engineering design codes, standards, guidelines, and best practices
- Experience with STAAD PRO, GT STRUDL or similar finite element method programs and MathCAD, Enercalc or similar software
- Experience with QA/QC reviews of structural designs
- Experience with preparation of cost proposals for various delivery methods
- Experience with design of gravity dams, retaining walls, gatehouses, outlet works, and related hydraulic structures
- Experience with post-tensioned anchor systems/structures and related heavy civil and waterfront structures
- Familiarity with dam and levee safety guidelines published by the US Army Corps of Engineers, Bureau of Reclamation, FERC, and related agencies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams
- Solid history of directing on-time and on-budget delivery of high-quality structural designs

- Experience with dam safety/heavy civil or waterfront projects
- Experience with design of concrete, steel, and wood members/structures
- Experience with construction phase engineering
