Technical Manager - Project

Job Summary

Coordinate and support on-site execution of capital projects for rides, shows, and infrastructure at Universal Studios Hollywood, facilitating daily coordination across project teams, site operations, and vendors. Serve as the primary on-site liaison between Global Attraction Programs, Technical Services, and external partners to resolve field issues, manage logistics, and ensure alignment with approved scope, schedule, and budget. Provide on-site technical leadership by reviewing engineering analyses, making field decisions on installation challenges, and translating operational needs into clear technical requirements. Ensure all activities comply with local regulations, industry standards, and internal safety specifications while driving vendor performance and managing project reporting for remote stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in capital project delivery, construction, themed entertainment, or related environments
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating complex, cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders
  • Experience in on-site project execution, field engineering, or technical coordination roles
  • Strong project coordination and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to drive alignment and execution across multiple teams without direct authority
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to translate technical concepts into clear updates for stakeholders
  • Solid technical foundation with the ability to evaluate field conditions and support engineering-related decisions
  • Working knowledge of ride and show systems or comparable complex systems (mechanical, electrical, controls, etc.)
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through
  • Proactive problem-solving mindset with the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced field environment
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required to support project schedules and coordination with global teams
  • Willingness to work a variety of shifts including long term overnight shifts
  • Willingness to be regularly present on-site to support active project execution
  • Valid driver's license

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in themed entertainment, attractions, or large-scale facilities projects
  • Familiarity with USH operations and/or live operating environments
  • Experience working with global or remote teams
  • Strong balance of technical acumen and project delivery focus
  • Experience working in a union environment
