Job Summary
Technical Manager - Design & Drafting overseeing creation of detailed technical drawings for substations and transmission projects. Translate engineering sketches into documented drawings (schematics, wiring, AC/DC single line diagrams, plan and profiles, foundation and grounding). Support design development, assemble Issued for Construction packages, and provide information to engineers for approvals. May attend occasional site visits. Requires a drafting diploma or equivalent and 12–15 years HV transmission/substation drafting experience. Proficient in AutoCAD and MicroStation; knowledge of Inventor/Revit and PLS CADD a plus. Strong analytical and prioritization abilities; familiarity with electrical/civil design. Flexible/hybrid work solutions with relocation support and remote work opportunities outside country.
Required Qualifications
- Drafting diploma from a recognized technical institute or equivalent work experience
- 12 to 15 years strong experience as a drafter in high voltage transmission and distribution substation physical layout and section drawings
- Proficient in AutoCAD and MicroStation; knowledge of Inventor/Revit would be an asset; knowledge of PLS CADD or similar design software would be an asset
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and time
- General knowledge of electrical/civil design
