Job Summary
Escalation Engineer for SDWAN/Routing at Cisco, responsible for end-to-end ownership of customer issues, remote troubleshooting, lab replication, and coordinating with Sales/Marketing/Development/Test teams. Role involves solving critical SDWAN/routing problems, managing incidents and on-call rotations, and communicating updates to customers and internal teams. Must balance advanced technical skills with strong customer-facing communication, drive product quality improvements through field feedback, and engage with multiple teams to ensure timely issue resolution. Requires a Computer Science/Engineering degree with substantial related experience (BS with 8+ years or MS with 6+ years), deep familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, QoS), and familiarity with Cisco SDWAN products and related technologies; familiarity with CCNA/CCNP/CCIE level capabilities and scripting (Python) is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer/Software/Electrical Engineering
- 8+ years of related experience or Masters +6 years of related experience
- Strong knowledge of Layer 2/Layer 3 networking and protocols (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, VRRP, DNS, MPLS, BFD, QoS)
- Experience with troubleshooting complex systems and incident management
- Knowledge of AWS/Azure and Python scripting (preferred)
