Job Summary
Technical Lead responsible for shaping and designing Willyama Services’ managed service and project solutions across the full pre-sales lifecycle, including discovery, solution architecture, pricing input, risk/assumptions, and tender/proposal responses. Provides technical leadership and governance for internal MSS and Engineering teams, driving standardisation, uplift initiatives, and quality across customer and internal environments. Partners with Sales, Delivery, MSS operations, and Engineering to translate client objectives into deliverable solutions aligned to the service catalogue, security obligations, and operational capabilities. Key duties include leading and developing Engineering/MSS teams, guiding pre-sales discovery, designing deliverable technical solutions, owning bid/tender solution documentation (architecture diagrams, scope, assumptions, dependencies, risks, acceptance criteria), contributing to pricing inputs and runbooks, establishing standards and quality assurance, and ensuring smooth handover from pre-sales to delivery. Required NV1 security clearance or ability to obtain, with desirable experience in Federal Government/Defence environments and relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft, ITIL, security). The role is based in Canberra, Australia with a hybrid work arrangement.
Required Qualifications
- Proven ability to lead, coach and develop teams
- Strong understanding of MSS/managed services operating models (SLAs, ITIL processes, monitoring, incident/problem/change, capacity and availability)
- Strong technical breadth across enterprise environments (e.g., Microsoft, networking, cloud, security) with the ability to design pragmatic, supportable solutions
- Demonstrated experience in pre-sales solution architecture and solution shaping for managed services and/or complex IT engagements
- Experience contributing to tenders, proposals, statements of work, and technical responses
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including the ability to present solutions to technical and non-technical audiences
- Current NV1 clearance or the ability to obtain
- Experience delivering or solutioning for Federal Government and/or Defence environments (highly desirable)
- Relevant tertiary qualification and/or industry certifications (e.g., Microsoft, ITIL, security) (desirable)
