Job Summary
Technical Cost Out (TCO) Lead responsible for delivering material and component cost reduction, supply resilience, and margin improvement through technical analysis, specification optimization, alternate sourcing, and cross-functional execution. Leads cross-functional teams through should-cost, teardown analyses, and cost-optimization events; coordinates sample builds, trials, testing, and validation; partners with Procurement, R&D, Quality, and Operations to ensure product performance, regulatory compliance, and supply continuity; drives end-to-end initiatives from opportunity assessment to handover of savings, maintaining thorough documentation and governance. Requires collaboration across Manufacturing Strategy, supplier qualification, and cost-modeling activities, with 50% travel and a Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Materials, Plastics, Chemicals, Packaging, or Manufacturing engineering or related field
- 5-8+ years experience
- Proven experience delivering multi-million dollar value engineering savings
- Proven experience leading cross-functional projects end-to-end using structured project management methods
- Working knowledge of GMP, change control, deviation/CAPA concepts, and validation/qualification principles
- Travel required, approximately 50%
