Technical Lead (Roads)

Job Summary
Lead the roads shop drawing team in the Egypt Technical Centre for UAE infrastructure projects, distributing work to engineers and draftsmen while preparing, amending, and correcting shop drawings for urgent submissions and critical details. Review and approve internal road drawings, including layouts, grading models, and pavement details, ensuring accuracy, constructability, and coordination with utilities, structures, and traffic diversions. Control the submission programme, manage drawing trackers and RFI logs, and conduct internal quality checks to reduce consultant rejections and site rework. Escalate critical design risks to the Technical Manager with clear impact assessments and target dates.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
- 9 to 15 years of experience in road shop drawings, road design coordination, or infrastructure technical office work
- Minimum 3 years in a senior review or team lead role
- AutoCAD, advanced level and mandatory
- Civil 3D, advanced level and mandatory
Desired Qualifications
- UAE or GCC infrastructure project experience is preferred
- Strong experience in roads, highways, junctions, grading, pavement, utilities coordination, and traffic diversion interface is preferred
- Navisworks or other clash review software, preferred
- MS Excel for trackers, quantity checks, progress monitoring, and reporting
