Job Summary
Optimize machining processes by adjusting parameters to improve cycle times, reduce scrap, and enhance tool life. Diagnose and resolve CNC issues, including tooling failures, dimensional problems, and machine alarms, while assisting with G-code edits and program validation. Lead daily shop activities by providing direction to machinists, prioritizing work, and ensuring smooth workflow across machines. Verify first-piece setups, inspect initial parts, and create setup sheets and standard work instructions to document best practices. Train and mentor machinists and junior technicians on setups, measurement techniques, and blueprint reading. Act as a liaison between engineering, quality, and production teams to facilitate communication and support new product introductions.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced machining knowledge — CNC mills, lathes, multi‑axis equipment, and precision measurement tools
- Blueprint & GD&T proficiency — Ability to interpret complex prints and apply geometric tolerancing
- CNC programming familiarity — Experience with G‑code, CAM software, or machine controls (Fanuc, Haas, Mazak, etc.)
- Training and Development – Proven abilities in developing technical capabilities of team members and enhancing training documentation
- Ability to lift 50lbs throughout the workday
