Job Summary
Design and maintain backend services in Go, including REST APIs, database migrations, and testing. Architect PostgreSQL/PostGIS databases for location-based queries, manage authentication and security, and build NLP-based search pipelines with vector databases. Deploy infrastructure on a GDPR-compliant EU cloud provider while designing interfaces for external system integrations. This 12-month EXIST stipend runs from summer 2026, offering monthly funding of up to 3,000 € for PhDs, with a hybrid schedule of 2–5 days in Berlin-Dahlem. The role supports mimaps' mission to connect mental health resources across Germany.
Required Qualifications
- Studium in Informatik, Data Engineering oder einem verwandten Fachgebiet
- Hochschulabschluss unmittelbar bevorstehend oder nicht länger als 5 Jahre zurückliegend
- Kein aktives Beschäftigungsverhältnis oder paralleles Stipendium
- Keine entgeltliche Nebentätigkeit von mehr als 20 Stunden / Monat
- Kein vorheriges EXIST-Gründungsstipendium
Desired Qualifications
- Kenntnisse in Go/Golang oder starke Backend-Erfahrung in einer anderen Sprache mit Bereitschaft, Go zu lernen
- Erfahrung mit PostgreSQL oder vergleichbaren relationalen Datenbanken
- Verständnis von Cloud-Infrastruktur, Containerisierung und Deployment
- Kenntnisse in TypeScript und Frontend-Entwicklung (React oder vergleichbar; wir nutzen SolidJS)
- Gute bis sehr gute Englischkenntnisse
