Technical Lead, Drinking Water Treatment Engineer

Job Summary

Lead the modeling and simulation of drinking water treatment processes using advanced computational tools and techniques. Ensure designs comply with all applicable environmental regulations and standards while conducting assessments to identify improvements in existing systems. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design innovative solutions, provide technical guidance to junior engineers, and prepare documentation for regulatory submissions. Engage with stakeholders, including regulatory agencies and clients, to discuss project developments. Uses creativity and mature judgment to solve unprecedented technical problems and provides visible industry leadership. Requires a Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of experience, with BC Professional Engineer registration. Based in one of three BC offices with travel as needed for site visits.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 10+ years of relevant engineering experience
  • demonstrated equivalency of experience and education in drinking water treatment engineering
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer in the province of BC
  • eligibility to become registered within 12 months
  • Bachelor's degree, English major preferred

Desired Qualifications

  • 20+ years of experience in drinking water treatment engineering
  • Strong knowledge of water quality standards, treatment processes, and environmental regulations
  • Experience understanding client challenges and developing practical engineering solutions
  • Master's degree in related field or demonstrated experience
  • Advanced knowledge of water treatment processes, technologies, and industry best practices
  • Expertise in water treatment modeling software and data analysis tools
  • Strong understanding of local, provincial, and federal regulations related to water treatment and quality
  • AWWA certifications or other relevant water treatment specialties
  • Travel as needed for project site visits and client meetings
