Technical Lead - Detail Design

Job Summary
Prepare 3D modeling designs, interpret drawings, and guide the design team to maintain regulatory compliance and meet approval standards. Apply technical expertise to prioritize team activities using the programme delivery plan, ensuring schedule and cost-effective delivery alongside quality expectations. Deploy engineering toolsets including CAD and information management systems to deliver complex design activities. Check, assure, and sign off on engineering deliverables against standards, rules, and regulatory requirements. Escalate complex design issues and advise management on proposed technical resolutions impacting the programme delivery plan. Manage non-adherence to design constraints through the correct process and contribute to technical governance by checking all engineering outputs, including BOMs. Assist the customer through the approval process as a compartment or system owner for spatial design.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of vocational training (Apprenticeship, Vocational Qualifications) or the equivalent experience
- Considerable experience in engineering or technical role
- Experience of large-scale engineering projects
- Specialist technical knowledge and a broad experience of processes, data systems and the business environment
- Competent in processes, procedures and standards related to detail design
- Ability to interpret and communicate technical instructions
- Ability to communicate & exchange ideas effectively both verbally and in writing
- Strong client/customer communication skills
