Job Summary
Technical Lead – Modeling & Simulation responsible for leading structural/FEA analyses across Thermo King transport applications, building high-fidelity models, evaluating static/dynamic loads, providing design recommendations to global engineering teams, and mentoring junior analysts. The role emphasizes translating simulation insights into durable, manufacturable, weight-efficient designs, collaborating with Reliability Engineering, Product Engineering, and Test Labs, and supporting new product development with simulation-driven insights. Requires hands-on experience with ANSYS/Abaqus, vibration/shock/durability methodologies, ability to drive analysis strategies, and strong technical leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- 8–12+ years of hands-on experience in structural/FEA analysis
- Proficiency in FEA tools such as ANSYS or Abaqus
- Strong grounding in vibration, impact/shock, fatigue, and nonlinear material/structural response
- Experience building and validating complex models that correlate with physical testing
- Ability to convert simulation results into clear engineering guidance for multidisciplinary teams
- Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills
- Preferred: PhD; experience with Python, APDL; exposure to vibration spectrum analysis; experience with shaker table testing; technical project leadership
