Job Summary
Assist with construction monitoring, field investigations, condition assessments, and site inspections while performing structural design, analysis, and project drafting. Analyze materials, develop test protocols, design testing apparatus, and interpret data under the guidance of licensed professionals. Collaborate on reconnaissance of existing structures, monitor construction in progress, and organize field data to facilitate repair design. Prepare client deliverables including construction documents, specifications, and written reports. This summer internship at Simpson Gumpertz & Heger in Atlanta offers hands-on experience in advanced analysis and applied science for current students in civil, structural, or architectural engineering.
Required Qualifications
- current student
- interest in civil and or structural engineering, materials science, architecture, and architectural engineering
- Maintain high grades in their studies
- interested in learning through hands-on work experience in a consulting engineering environment
- Enthusiastic about the challenges associated with the development of sophisticated engineering work product in an atmosphere of high professionalism
