Job Summary
Manage site activities for industrial power generation rotating equipment, including on-site installation, preventive maintenance, repair, calibration, and aftermarket upgrades. Respond to emergency repair requests and provide technical instruction to customer representatives regarding installation, operation, and maintenance. Perform walk-downs to ensure contractor compliance, troubleshoot equipment, and sign off on all implemented changes. Execute administrative functions such as writing technical reports, ordering materials, and preparing job status and expense sheets. Maintain a strong safety mindset while ensuring parts are shipped to the site. Requires extensive travel and willingness to work holidays, weekends, and overtime.
Required Qualifications
- Technical/University degree or qualifying experience OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in a Field Services role
- 3+ years of experience in a field services or power generation equipment maintenance position
- Strong technical competence in reading and interpreting electrical/mechanical flow and instrument diagrams dial and laser alignment and thermal growth equipment
- Extensive travel to and from projects and various field assignments will be required
- English proficiency required
Desired Qualifications
- Introductory level. Most new hires with little experience on the GE Product will start in this level. Participates in on-the-job training.
- Experience and training on Alstom, Siemens, or other OEM equipment
- Extensive Field Engineering Services experience
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Strong oral and written interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
- Strong business acumen and ability to sell GE products to the customer
