Job Summary
Technical Farm Analyst at the Purdue Ag Center SEPAC responsible for collection, analysis and maintenance of digital data; utilize unmanned aerial systems to collect and process imagery; develop and analyze maps to compare physical topography with data on soils, fertilizer, pests or weather; collect soil attributes or yield data using data recorders and GIS; document and maintain research records; calibrate and maintain sensors and monitoring equipment; install, calibrate and operate research equipment; coordinate trials across the Purdue Ag Center system; provide high-level support to Principal Investigators and staff; analyze data, present results, and support field research activities including pest scouting and field condition assessment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Agricultural discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience (Associate’s degree + 3 years or HS/GED + 5 years)
- 1 year of experience with modern production practices associated with agronomic crops
- Basic knowledge of operation and integration of precision ag equipment and electronics
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems
- Must hold or be able to obtain Commercial Pesticide Applicator's license within one year
- Valid U.S. or Canadian drivers license
