Full TimeSenior LevelLarge

Job Summary

Act as the technical authority for chassis systems across VinFast vehicle programs within the VQA division, leading resolution of major issues involving ride, handling, steering feel, braking behavior, and NVH. Diagnose complex problems arising from suspension, steering design, tuning, or system interactions, while providing expert guidance on tuning strategies to ensure balanced delivery of comfort and precision. Support investigation of EV-specific phenomena such as torque steer, steering kickback, and driveline-to-chassis interactions by working closely with NVH, Vehicle Dynamics, Powertrain, BIW, and Safety teams. Review chassis concepts, designs, and validation results to enforce robust technical standards and define design rules. Lead technical reviews and corrective action planning, capturing lessons learned to strengthen future platform strategies and provide authoritative input to senior leadership on risks and trade-offs.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline
  • 15–20+ years of experience in chassis system development within industry-leading OEMs or Tier-1 engineering organisations
  • Exceptional systems-level understanding of how chassis subsystems interact with the full vehicle
  • Ability to influence and lead without direct line management, operating effectively as a senior technical authority
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of translating complex chassis behavior into clear technical actions
  • Structured, analytical, and pragmatic approach to problem solving
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment with significant technical accountability

Desired Qualifications

  • Expert in chassis systems, including: Steering systems (EPS, racks, columns), Brake systems (hydraulic, brake-by-wire, pedal feel), Suspension systems (front & rear architectures), Bushes, mounts, and isolation systems, Subframes and structural chassis components, Powertrain mounting systems and their interaction with the chassis
  • Deep understanding of ride, handling, and steering performance, including subjective and objective assessment methods
  • Extensive experience diagnosing and resolving NVH issues originating from suspension, steering, subframes, bushes, and powertrain mounts
  • Proven capability to troubleshoot complex vehicle-level issues such as: Torque steer, Steering kickback, Brake judder and vibration, Ride harshness and impact harshness, Structure-borne noise transmitted through chassis systems
  • Strong understanding of how suspension and steering design choices influence NVH, ride comfort, handling balance, and customer perception
  • Experience working across design, tuning, CAE, and test to identify root causes and implement robust countermeasures
  • Familiarity with electric vehicle (EV) chassis challenges, including high torque delivery, mass distribution, regenerative braking effects, and powertrain mount interaction
  • Ability to define, review, and enforce chassis design rules, tuning philosophies, and technical standards across multiple vehicle programs
  • Strong background in structured problem solving and cross-attribute issue resolution
  • Proven experience capturing lessons learned and embedding them into standards, guidelines, and future vehicle architectures
