Job Summary
Lead and shape the delivery of dam engineering initiatives as Technical Executive – Dams Engineer within WSP’s Geo-environmental Engineering team. Oversee conceptual to detailed designs for dams, reservoirs, and service basins; conduct dam safety reviews, inspections, and compliance assessments; manage multiple high-profile projects with technical excellence and timely delivery. Drive market engagement, develop proposals, strengthen client relationships, and mentor junior engineers. Collaborate with leadership across Australia to align strategy and delivery. Requires 16+ years of hands-on design experience, advanced qualifications (Masters or PhD in Structural or Geotechnical Engineering) and professional accreditation (CPEng, RPEQ preferred). Proficiency in relevant analysis and design software; ability to lead complex projects and deliver on time and budget. Required Qualifications
- 16+ years of hands-on design experience in dam engineering
- Masters or PhD in Structural or Geotechnical Engineering
- Familiarity with ANCOLD, ICOLD or similar standards
- Professional accreditation preferred (CPEng, RPEQ)
- Proficiency in relevant analysis and design software
- Ability to lead complex projects and deliver on time and budget
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
- Mentor and coach junior engineers
- Ability to collaborate with leadership teams across Australia
