Job Summary
Mechanical Technical Director for Data Centres leading a team of MEP engineers, responsible for strategic initiatives, budgeting, client relationship management, and delivery across UK/EMEA. You will drive energy efficiency and reliability of data centre infrastructure, oversee design and implementation of cutting-edge mechanical solutions, mentor engineers, manage forecasts and bid opportunities, collaborate with clients, developers, contractors and architects, and promote WSP’s position as the engineer of choice in the data centre sector.
Required Qualifications
- Chartership through CIBSE/IET/IMechE Engineering Council or open to working towards this
- Mechanical Engineering Expertise: HVAC, cooling systems, fuel systems, controls, energy management
- Leadership and Team Management: mentor team members, manage resources
- Project Management: oversee timelines, budgets, quality standards
- Strategic vision and adaptability to evolving DC sector
- Communication skills: graphic sketching and conveying technical concepts
- Customer Focus: address client and end-user needs
- Developing client relationships to promote new commissions
