Job Summary
WSP is seeking a Technical Director for Environmental Engineering, responsible for business development in the Oil & Gas and Industrial sectors, managing environmental remediation programs, and overseeing project teams. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field, a California Professional Engineer’s License, and over 12 years of related experience. The role demands strong project management skills, experience with environmental remediation regulations, and the ability to mentor staff. This position involves managing multiple projects while ensuring deliverables meet budget and schedule expectations, and may require travel for project execution.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Civil, Chemical, Environmental or related Engineering field
- California (Civil) Professional Engineer’s License
- 12+ years related environmental remediation and sales experience
- Strong work ethic
- Strong Project Management Experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Previous experience working with remediation/assessment projects involving the Regional Quality Water Quality Control Board, DTSC and/or one of the local CUPAs
- Experience with CERCLA, RCRA, DTSC, Water Board and other CalEPA Programs
- Consulting experience with petroleum contamination cleanups in soil and groundwater including free floating products (LNAPL)
- Consulting experience for chlorinated solvent contamination remediation of soil and groundwater
- Consulting experience in soil gas and vapor intrusion issues
- Developing and managing complex engineering design and design-build projects
- Overseeing remedy construction and operation and maintenance of environmental project work
- Must pass drug test, physical, background check and have a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
Desired Qualifications
- 40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR 1910.120) preferred.
- Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training desired.
