Job Summary
Technical Director, Ecology leading WA-based Ecology team at WSP. Responsible for overseeing strategy, pursuit, and delivery of major ecological projects; fostering technical excellence; aligning with national strategies; growing client relationships and market presence in Western Australia; leading strategic hiring and workforce planning; and promoting a zero-harm HSE culture while mentoring and developing others. Requires a degree in Ecology/Environmental Science/Environmental Management and 15–20+ years of ecology experience, with a proven ability to lead high-performing teams, drive technical delivery, and manage risk and stakeholder relationships.
Required Qualifications
- A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or a related discipline (postgraduate qualifications highly regarded)
- 15–20+ years’ experience in ecology with a track record of technical delivery in complex environments
- Strong leadership capabilities with a history of building, leading and developing high-performing teams
- Experience in business strategy, market growth and talent development/retention
- Strong commercial and operational acumen with evidence of managing team operations, resourcing, performance, and financial oversight
- Excellent communication, influencing and problem-solving skills; ability to build and maintain client and stakeholder relationships
