Job Summary
Evaluate samples for fit, construction, and quality against established standards by conducting detailed garment measurements and ensuring consistency. Lead fit sessions to provide technical recommendations for improving product fit and performance while creating and maintaining technical specifications throughout the development lifecycle. Partner with Product Development, Merchandising, and cross-functional teams to resolve fit and construction issues, identifying opportunities to improve overall product consistency and support commercialization efforts. This temporary assignment lasts 4-6 months with onsite presence at Freeport, Maine headquarters two days per week.
Required Qualifications
- 2-year associates degree
- 3+ years of relevant experience
- Strong knowledge of apparel or accessory garment construction, terminology and fit
- Strong knowledge of pattern making/draping and grading
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent computer skills including 3D (CLO), Adobe Illustrator and PDM (Product Data Management)
- Strong analytical skills
- Solid technical drawing skills
- Good understanding of the L.L.Bean customer
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
- Ability to lift/carry 20lbs. on a regular basis
- Experience in Technical Design, Product Development, Apparel Engineering, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of garment construction, fit evaluation, patternmaking, and quality standards
- Experience creating and maintaining technical specifications and fit documentation
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional partners
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Must be available for onsite presence at our Freeport, Maine headquarters two days per week
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
