Technical Design Manager

Job Summary
Oversee technical design execution across assigned dress categories from development through production, leading live fittings to ensure consistency in fit, construction, and garment execution. Review and approve specs, grading, fit comments, and technical packages prior to vendor release while partnering with Design, Production, PD, Merchandising, and overseas vendors throughout the development process. Troubleshoot fit, pattern, and construction issues, providing technical direction to factories and managing workload distribution and workflow prioritization across the technical design team. Mentor junior team members in fit execution and support onboarding, ensuring adherence to company fit standards and technical procedures. Assist in evaluating staffing needs and process improvements while maintaining strong vendor relationships for escalation resolution. Participate in seasonal development meetings and cross-functional reviews to drive departmental efficiencies.
Required Qualifications
- 10–12+ years of Technical Design experience within women's dresses
- Expert knowledge of fit, grading, garment construction, and pattern correction
- Strong woven dress construction and fit experience
- Proven experience leading fittings and communicating technical direction to overseas vendors
- Strong understanding of development calendars and production timelines
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Technical Design, Patternmaking, or related field preferred
- Prior management or team leadership experience preferred
- Proficiency in Illustrator, Excel, PLM systems, and technical development tools preferred
- Experience with 3D technical platforms a plus
