Job Summary
Advance brand goals for fit, construction, and design aesthetic while managing workload to ensure adequate staffing levels. Supervise the technical team by motivating associates, approving fit processes, generating annual appraisals, and ensuring adherence to the Time and Action Calendar. Develop strong relationships with supervised staff, other departments, and outside vendors while participating in company meetings. Revise pattern blocks, instruct factories on corrections, and apply deep knowledge of denim washes, sewing processes, and garment construction to execute product standards independently.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 12 years' experience as a technical designer
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in supervising a team of multiple Technical Designers
- Qualified to revise pattern blocks and instruct factory on how to correct their pattern
- Computer literate
- Good communication skills
- CAD drawing skills
- Strong knowledge of fit and how to execute and improve the fit of a garment
- Strong construction knowledge
- Good retention of facts and department systems
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to make decisions independently
- Ability to adjust to changing business needs
- First-hand knowledge of sewing and factory processes
- Knowledge of denim washes and processes as it pertains to the fit and execution of denim product
