Job Summary
Lead backend engineering execution by guiding teams on scalable, high-performance systems while actively contributing to architecture, complex technical challenges, and critical delivery moments. Review distributed system designs, improve performance, design new APIs, and step into the codebase to unblock delivery using .NET/C#, RabbitMQ, and Azure/AWS platforms. Shape engineering standards, backend architecture, and delivery processes across the team while mentoring engineers and communicating with stakeholders. Work closely with Tech Leads, Frontend, and Data teams to build services powering real-time sports experiences.
Required Qualifications
- 5–10 years of experience in software engineering, with strong backend focus
- BSc or MSc in Software Engineering (or similar)
- Proven experience as a Technical Lead / Team Lead in backend engineering teams
- Demonstrated ownership of delivery, architecture decisions, and team guidance
- Extensive experience with .NET / C# in production environments
- Strong knowledge of system architecture, IoC, and concurrency
- Experience with messaging and streaming systems (e.g. RabbitMQ, Azure PubSub, UDP)
- Hands-on experience with Azure and/or AWS
- Strong experience with automated testing and TDD
- Experience mentoring engineers and supporting their development
- Strong stakeholder communication and delivery ownership skills
- Willingness to work on-site in our Hungary office
