Job Summary
Operate as a department resource performing MLT/MLS duties with operational leadership and workflow oversight for the evening shift. Execute complex problem-solving for technical, computer, and quality issues while integrating clinical relevance into daily activities. Review records to assure quality control and assurance procedures, ensuring instrumentation maintenance and documentation meet accrediting agency standards. Monitor inventory, analyze cost models, and participate in continuous quality improvement programs to enhance financial performance. Provide onsite supervision in the absence of the section supervisor, including schedule determination and workflow management. Assist with personnel oversight, including selection, training, coaching, and competency assessments for staff. Serve as a communication liaison for on-site and system issues, fostering teamwork and customer service.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in a medical laboratory technology, medical laboratory science or clinical laboratory science
- four (4) years of laboratory training or experience, or both in nonwaived testing, in the designated specialty/sub-specialty area
- Bachelor's degree in chemical or biological science
- two (2) years of laboratory training or experience, or both in nonwaived testing, in the designated specialty/sub-specialty area
- detailed credential evaluation from IERF (International Education Research Foundation) or other nationally recognized credentialing agency
- Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science/medical technology
- Bachelor's degree in chemical or biological science
- certification (MLS or categorical)
- Two (2) years' experience in nonwaived testing in the designated specialty/sub-specialty area
- Bachelor's degree with four (4) years of experience in that discipline
