Job Summary
Facilitate engineering learning practices by actively teaching teams on work, guiding them through consults and chartering, and attending exit interviews. Balance prescriptive guidance for new tech areas or high-risk decisions with reflective questioning to foster independent problem-solving. Spend 80% of the first two weeks, 50% the next two weeks, and 25% the final two weeks embedded with the team, while occasionally taking breaks for skill development and cross-team problem solving. Apply active listening to help teams avoid old habits and develop their own solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Be with the team 80% of the day of the team's first 2 weeks
- Be with the team 50% of the day for the team's second 2 weeks
- Be with the team 25% of the day for the team's last 2 weeks
- Experience with simple design practices and story decomposition from a technical perspective
- Experience with test first practices, testing pyramids, and testing frameworks
- Experience with refactoring code, patterns, and design
- Experience with build and deployment practices and tools
- Experience with infrastructure as code
- Experience with operations and support
