Job Summary
Technical Business Development Manager role focusing on advancing Thermo Fisher Scientific’s cell culture media and bioproduction services in China. Responsible for developing strategic partnerships with biotech, biopharma, CRO, and CDMO customers, acting as the technical liaison to support media selection, development, troubleshooting, and scale-up; leading joint development initiatives and in-licensing with R&D and BD Centers; delivering hands-on technical consulting and data analysis to optimize customer processes; driving contract development and negotiations (SOWs/MSAs) and managing media development pipelines to align technical opportunities with commercial objectives; delivering technical presentations and trainings to customers and internal teams; traveling up to 50% across China.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences (Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or related field) required
- Advanced degree/PhD/MBA preferred
- 7+ years of experience in business development, technical sales, or field application roles within Biotech, Biopharma, or Life Sciences industries
- Proven success in process development, media optimization, and strategic partnership management
- Proven experience in negotiations, project management, and strategic account development
- Demonstrated ability to translate technical expertise into commercial outcomes
- Strong communication, relationship management, and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to travel up to 50% across China
