Job Summary

The Technical Business Development Manager (BDM) at Generac is tasked with driving the acceptance and adoption of new switch gear technologies with over 3,000 Electrical Utility Providers in North America. Responsibilities include developing relationships with key utilities, managing product review submissions, ensuring compliance with utility standards, coordinating technical reviews, and leading product introductions in collaboration with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate must possess a deep understanding of utility compliance, experience in business development within the residential electrical industry, and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively. A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and at least 5 years of experience in business development or sales are mandatory.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of business development or other sales / account management experience
  • Previous experience establishing business to business relationships in a technically oriented industry
  • Prior account management experience
  • Prior experience collaborating with cross-functional leadership teams
  • Prior experience managing / leading projects
