Technical Business Analyst

$95,000–$121,000 year

HybridIrvine, California, United States

Full Time

Job Summary

Identify operational pain points, analyze root causes, and define practical, scalable solutions that align business objectives with technical capabilities. Translate complex needs into clear user stories, process flows, and functional requirements while partnering with developers, architects, QA, and business leaders to ensure shared understanding and accelerate delivery. Evaluate current-state processes to design future-state workflows emphasizing automation, efficiency, and scalability, then drive requirements from discovery through delivery with measurable outcomes. Use AI tools to accelerate analysis and improve documentation, preparing the business for new solutions through clear communication during rollout. Join a new team shaping the direction of Ensign Services' post-acute care support operations, working onsite in San Juan Capistrano.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, information systems, finance, healthcare administration, or a related field, or the ability to demonstrate equivalent analytical and technical expertise.
  • Minimum of 5+ years in business analysis, technical analysis, product delivery, or a similar role within a technology-driven environment.
  • Proven success working across both business and technical teams to deliver measurable outcomes.
  • You naturally break down complex challenges, ask thoughtful questions, and persist until the root cause is understood.
  • You focus on solutions rather than symptoms.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences — able to 'talk the talk' with engineers while remaining accessible to business partners.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and a strong desire to learn how systems, processes, and data truly work.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills with the ability to bring structure to loosely defined problems and operate effectively in ambiguous environments.
  • Skilled at writing clear requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and process documentation.
  • Comfortable facilitating discussions, asking challenging questions, and driving alignment across stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with Agile and Scrum practices, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Ability to build credibility quickly, partner effectively across organizational levels, and advocate for solutions that balance business value with technical feasibility.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in finance or healthcare environments is a plus; however, strong analytical ability, adaptability, curiosity, and problem-solving capability are more important than specific domain experience.
