Job Summary
Conduct pre-shift briefings with the HOD and reliever to review targets, prior shift issues, and the upcoming schedule. Perform physical area rounds to verify equipment, materials, and documentation, ensuring all personnel understand targets, quality systems, and critical precautions. Manage dispensing, sampling, and receipt of raw and packaged materials while cross-verifying batch completion times and cleaning protocols. Address quality, safety, and operational abnormalities immediately, documenting findings and escalating to the HOD as needed. Review shift outputs with individuals, facilitate handovers, and drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on yield, cost, and safety.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to discuss special requirements, instructions, targets, and shift issues with HOD and relievers
- Capability to conduct physical area rounds and identify abnormalities
- Ability to ensure proper handover of pending work to relievers
- Skill in allocating part-time and full-time employees considering absenteeism
- Ability to ensure individuals understand shift plans and delivery targets
- Capability to instruct offline/concern people on material arrangements for operations
- Ability to ensure quality systems, machines, accessories, and documents are in place
- Skill in interacting with line people (Supervisors, Operators) to understand output and quality targets
- Ability to verify training records of casual labor
- Capability to perform critical challenge tests and in-process checks
- Skill in ensuring machine functioning parameters and facility requirements are met
- Ability to cross-verify documents, products, and Master Production (MP) usage
- Capability to discuss and train on special precautions (e.g., temperature, nitrogen purging, light sensitivity)
- Ability to evaluate and challenge Master Production (MP) working for correctness
- Skill in ensuring no human intervention occurs and correct procedures are followed
- Capability to verify knowledge of batch completion and cleaning times
- Ability to report findings to HOD after completing department rounds
- Skill in focusing on improvement projects (Yield, Quality, Safety, Cost saving, Man hour reduction)
- Capability to complete Shift reports and Daily planning reports
- Ability to ensure Safety, hygiene, discipline, and ISO requirements are followed
- Skill in spending time for innovation and initiatives in the department
- Capability to train people
- Ability to engage in other department activities like procurement and meetings
- Skill in ensuring people report and take permission for non-routine jobs
- Capability to conduct personal talks with people about them and their families
- Ability to ensure activities are on-line with Supervisor present
- Skill in facing abnormalities and communicating with HOD immediately
- Capability to ensure special precautions in night shifts to prevent sleepiness
- Ability to allocate and record Master Production (MP) for each activity in log books
- Skill in conducting shift end reviews with individuals for quality output and data
- Capability to give time to next shift reliever and conduct rounds with them
